SHAPE YOUR FACE

Contouring helps to really shape your face, and alter things you may want to look differently without taking extreme measures.

To begin...

I recommend purchasing a contour brush. They might be a little more pricey, but youll be using them everyday.

Sephora's Pro-Angled Contour Brush #75 is $30 online.

Feel the contours of your face and apply a contour line right underneath your cheekbone from the center of your ear in a downward motion.

To create a “slimmer” look for your face, put contour color under your hairline in the center of your forehead.

Next you will be shaping your nose. For this use a small brush to line both sides of your nose.

Not on your jawline but just below it, apply contour coloring to create a shadow.

Blend all contour lines well.

LUSCIOUS LIPS

I'm all for making a statement and one of the easiest, most simple ways to do so it by applying a dramatic color to your lips. Whether it is bold & bright or calm and neutral, your lips truly define your mood.

To give you guys a more clear picture I recruited two models for lipstick use. I had my sister, Lexi (on the left) and her best friend Brielle (on the right) apply two totally different shades of lipstick to demonstrate the powerful effects lipstick has on changing up your look.

Lexi wanted to go with a more summer-time look. She chose Maybellines Fuschia Fever 140.

Brie wanted to switch up and go for the bold, daring look. She selected Maybellines On Fire Red 895.

P.S. These were both under $8!

MAKEUP GLAMOUR STORIES

There are always going to be critics. This goes for everything you do in life. There will be people who make comments about how you wear your makeup or say that you wear to much. Ignore those people. Anyone that has the time to criticize you in a negative way should have no time in your life.

Yesterday I wrote about a situation that opened my eyes, literally but came off in a somewhat harsh tone. Well the other day at work (I waitress) I had a table that consisted of three little kids, two girls and a boy.

This one girl in particular was about four years old and absolutely adorable. She was very vocal and had the best manners.

As I was leaning down to give her dinner to her, she looked up at me and said "I like your makeup!"

This may seem like the littlest more irrelevant thing because it came from someone so young, but it literally made my night complete.

The fact that she acknowledged how I did my makeup was just the most amazing thing for me.

It really is the little things in life.

MAKEUP HORROR STORIES

I started I'm sure we have all unknowingly made ourselves up to look somewhat like a clown before we really discovered our makeup look... Right?

Well maybe it was just me.

I started wearing makeup when I was in the sixth grade so I clearly knew a lot about how much to use, what to wear, when to wear it etc. WRONG.

For some reason the makeup that I was most into was eyeliner... and it was very obvious I liked it.

I remember one day in particular in the seventh grade I was sitting in my homeroom with this girl by the name of Theresa. She was into the whole goth thing so everything on her was very dramatic.

We were mid conversation and she looked up at me and said "Wow, you wear more eyeliner than me!"

I was mortified. Granted I did wear eyeliner around my entire eye, which probably made my eyes look about the size of a blueberry.

I instantly wanted to go to the bathroom and clean it off but I knew it would just make the situation worse. I could not believe a girl that centered her look around wearing the color black, boldly had just told me I wore more eye liner then she did.

I stopped wearing it completely around my eye which did open them up and make my green eyes a bit brighter. (I should thank her for that)

To this day, I still wear a lot of eyemakeup, but not around my entire eye. And everytime somebody compliments me on my makeup I think about Theresa and that comment.

DON'T MAKE ME BLUSH

Blush got its name from the term blushing, that is the occurrence of temporary redness of the face as an emotional response to a situation.

Over time, we realized that blushing is a good thing and the makeup world recreated it in the form of makeup. Applying blush is actually a great way to highlight your cheekbones.

My favorite blush that currently holds a place in my makeup heart is Bare Minerals Flower Blush. It can be purchased online at bareescentuals.com, Sephora.com, qvc.com or in store at Ulta for approcimately $17.

Me rocking blush with one of my previous models. Diesel.

THE FAKE TAN YOU'LL LOVE

Gone are the days when you had no choice but to be pale.
Theres something about looking tan that just makes me more confident.

The creation of bronzer brought us a new availibility, a way to give our faces that tan glow, that extra boost that gives your skin that sunkissed look.

They make numerous types to appeal to everyone: liquid bronzer, bronzer cream, spray bronzer and my favorite bronzer powder.

I’m a fan of MATTE bronzers because my face has a tendency to get a little shiny and the matte feature is proven to give you the bronzed look...minus the shimmer.

This is my latest bronzing obsession and its not out of your price range.

NYX for the most part sends out good product and this just happens to be one of their all time best. This bronzer of course comes in different shades so you don't look like you took somebody elses face and posted it on your body.

Before you leave the house, take a large bronzing brush and slightly go over your cheek bones, top of your forehead and your chin. This will not only highlight the bone structure of your face but give you that tan flawless look you deserve.

THE KEY TO FLAWLESS SKIN.

If you could wake up in the morning and have one makeup step already done for you, what would it be?

Mine would be the application of my foundation. Clear flawless skin gives you that extra boost to remind you just how beautiful you really are.

Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3-in-1 Foundation does that for me.

This product fuses primer, concealer and foundation all into one little bottle for an all day, longwear formula. Talk about cutting down the amount of time you spend doing your makeup.

Not only does it last all day, but your skin looks just as great at the end of the day as it did when you first applied it. The best thing about it, it's so light you don't even feel like you're wearing it.

And no more excuses that you can't find one that matches your exact skin tone. 3-in-1 comes in 14 different shades to accomodate everybodys skin. I find that Medium-Beige works best for my complexion.

I began using the 3-in-1 foundation about 3 months ago and since then have been able to convert my sister and my bestfriend to 3-in-1 girls simply by the smooth flawless appearance of my skin. I guarantee you, one you try it, you're not gunna want to try anything else.

LASHES, LASHES, & MORE LASHES.

Fake Eyelashes.

Many females think they can't pull them off. Think again.

I started getting into fake eyelashes about three years ago and have been ADDICTED ever since. They are not only fun to play around with but are a fabulous way to make your eyes appear more inviting. They make lashes for all occasions, lashes to make your lashes look fuller, lashes to make your lashes appear longer, and lashes to make your lashes do both. They are sold in the form of a single strip, individual pieces or end extensions. The application processes are different but my favorite and in my opinion the easiest to apply are the lash strips. My ALL-TIME favorite lash brand is Ardell and for an everyday look Wispies are absolute perfection.

...So lets forget the stigma about fake lashes being hard to apply, really its quite simple.

They are applied to your lashline with lash glue, which many eyelash sets come with. I am a dedicated supporter of Waterproof LashGrip Eyelash Adhesive. LashGrip glue gives you a longer, stronger hold and can be purchased online or at any Sally’s Beauty Supply or local drugstore for less than five dollars and will last months.

Lets not forget about the last most important step in the apllication process. Blending. My all-time favorite mascara, fake lashes or not is Lash Stiletto Ultimate Length by Maybelline in very black. This not only does wonders for the length of your natural lashes but is great for blending them with the falsies.
